Michael Tait Biography
Michael Tait is a Washington, D.C. born modern Christian musician. He is the present lead singer of Newsboys, and one-third of a Christian rock band, DC Talk, however, the group has been on hiatus since 2000. Tait also has had success in his solo career, founding a band called Tait in 1997.
He toured as a solo act until 2007. Tait became the lead vocalist of the Christian pop-rock band Newsboys in 2009, even though Peter Furler was the lead vocalizer on the album In The Hands of God, Tait provided supporting vocals on the project.
Aside from singing, Tait is also a self-taught guitarist. Tait also has a sister Lynda Randle, who is a Southern Gospel singer.

Michael Tait and Toby met back in 1984 while they were still in High School in the Washing DC area and together they both began creating some music. An official statement was disclosed on March 9th, 2009, stating that Michael Tait was going to be the new lead singer of the Newsboys. On the 7th of the same month, before the release of the statement, Tait surprised the crowd by performing as Newsboys’ lead singer for the first time ever announcing that he would be the band’s new lead singer.
In the official statement released on the 9th of march of 2009, Michael tait said that he was surprised at the calling of being the lead singer of the group and when he performed for the first time, he realized that he belonged to the group.
The former lead singer of the group, Peter Furler, still had to provide the lead vocals on the 2009 album, In the Hands of God, though Tait provided supporting vocals along with fellow member Jamie Rowe of Guardian.
In 2010, the Reborn Newsboys declared information concerning their 15th studio album, Born Again, that was let out on 13th July. This was followed by Christmas! A Newsboys Holiday, including a previously recorded Tait Song.
In the year 2011, God’s not Dead and live follow up, Newsboys Live in concert: God’s not dead in 2012, restart in 2013 and hallelujah for the cross in 2014.
